ACAC Eligibility

The Portage College Voyageurs and all ACAC/CCAA Schools follow the same set of rules regarding. The information provided on the Voyageurs website discussing elgibility is ONLY and overview of the ACAC Eligibility requirements. All student-athlete elgibility will be determined by the complete rules and regulations covered by the ACAC Operating Code, Acrticle I Section 5 - Eligibility 

Article I Section 5 - Non Canadian Athletes 

8. Use of Non-Canadian Athletes 

8.1. An ACAC member team shall be permitted to dress the following number of non-Canadian players for an ACAC league or play-off game: 

  • Hockey (4 Non Canadians)

  • Soccer (4 Non Canadians)

  • Basketball (3 Non Canadians) 

  • Volleyball (3 Non Canadians)

  • Futsal (3 Non Canadians) 

  • Cross Country Running (2 male & 2 female non-Canadian) 

  • Golf (1 male & 1 female non-Canadian)

  • Curling (1 male & 1 female non-Canadian)

  • Badminton (3 non‐Canadian student‐athletes & No more than 2 non‐Canadian in any gender.)

8.2. For the purposes of this section, a non‐Canadian student‐athlete is defined as a student‐athlete who:

8.2.1. does not possess Canadian citizenship, or

8.2.2. does not possess permanent residency status in Canada as determined by Immigration Canada. (Amended June, 2014)
