The Portage College Athletics Association

HISTORY

The Portage College Athletic Association (PCAA) was established with the express purpose of establishing a community connection to Portage College and the Voyageur Athletics department. Since this time the This volunteer board was established with a purpose to support Portage College Athletics and their Student-Athletes strive for excellence. This group of passionate volunteer supporters set out with a mission, vision and goals that are still today the focus of the PCAA.

Mission:

The PCAA’s mission is to assists Portage College in building community supports, help work on a positive image and financial supports towards intercollegiate athletics offered at Portage College.

Vision:

The PCAA had a vision to offer every student at Portage College an opportunity to represent their school in intercollegiate athletic competition.

Goals:

Over the years the PCAA has operated with the vision and mission statements to help guide them towards achieve the PCAA’s goals which includes the goals . . .

  1. To assist in growing access to athletic programming
  2. Deliver effective and sustainable student supports
  3. Develop and implement a clearly identifiable brand
  4. Build a clear sense of purpose, value and identity
  5. Reduce dependency on College Base Funds (Government Funding)
  6. Celebrate Community Collaborations
  7. Empowering future leaders
  8. Celebrating Excellence
