Voyageur Athletics is excited to announce our New Golf Coaches, Coach Lorin Tkachuk & Yasser Eludin. Coach Tkachuk is an avid golfer with 25 years of experience playing golf and a passion for the game that has been passed down in his family for generations. Coach Eludin is an avid golfer and winner of the 2019 Club Championship and 2020 Club Challenge (Matchplay Champ). Coach Eludin was born and raised in Lac La Biche and is a local business owner and pharmacist. These two coaches combined have a great passion and knowledge that will serve them well as a coaching tandem.

Both coach Tkachuk & Eludin are highly involved in the Lac La Biche community and are volunteer members of the Portage College Athletics Association (PCAA) which aids and support the Portage College Student Athletes. Coach Tkachuk expressed his reason for wanting to coach as "I have a passion to help people grow in sport, teaching people the finer parts of the sport has always been something that gives me a sense of fulfilment."

Coach Eludin, expressed that for him "Coaching is a way to get involved with the community, and to help local athletes succeed in their goals while representing our hometown." He continued by saying "the greatest thing about golf is that there are so many layers to the game. When you have a solid foundation, there are always new skills and strategies to learn that will help your personal golf game evolve. It allows for continuous growth, which keeps it fun and interesting." 

While the ACAC Golf Season has been reduced to 3, one day events coaches and athletes will have to be prepared however both coaches expressed that their goal for the 2021-22 season will be "centred around getting the best out of every athlete and giving them the tools, they need to succeed."
